Lessons From the Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES Annual Conference
Each year, Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES hosts the Annual Conference on Youth, Families & Communities, a gathering designed to strengthen those who serve children, teens, and families across Allen County. It’s a day of learning, connection, and inspiration—intended to give anyone working with youth the tools and ideas they need to make a difference.
The goal of the conference is simple: to empower and connect those who support our community’s youth so they can grow into productive and healthy adults. The event draws a wide range of attendees—teachers, mentors, social workers, coaches, faith leaders, volunteers, and caregivers—all united by a shared passion for helping kids succeed.
“Together, let’s continue to build communities where every child knows they are valued, supported, and known.”
—Sarah Strimmenos, Welcome Address, 36th Annual Conference on Youth, Families & Communities, hosted by Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES.
Attendees learn from engaging speakers, participate in hands-on workshops, and attend a service provider fair that showcases local programs and resources. They learn from experts, meet new people, share ideas, and leave motivated to impact the lives of kids and families in our community.
Foellinger Foundation President and CEO Sarah Strimmenos delivered the welcome address at this year’s 36th annual conference on October 2, 2025. The Foundation has supported Great KIDS for over 25 years, awarding the organization Special Opportunity grants totaling more than $4 million.
“This conference is more than an event—it’s a movement,” Sarah shared in her welcome speech. “[It’s] a celebration of the people, ideas, and actions that help children thrive. Whether you're a caregiver, educator, nonprofit leader, advocate, or simply someone who believes in the power of young people, you are part of an influential network working toward a shared vision: strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.”
Foellinger Foundation is proud to support Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES and the important work they’re doing to strengthen youth, families, and communities in Allen County.
